Marriage, what a wonderful idea.

Two people who are in love and committed to sharing a life together. It seems like an easy concept. I’ve heard about the ups and downs, the top of the mountain moments and valley experiences. I’ve heard that marriage wasn't easy; and after hearing all of that I said well my marriage will be different. Or, so I thought. Yeah, my marriage was different and you will hear just how different it was.

“To My Friend God” is a series of letters that I wrote and I’m currently writing to God about the various issues I face in my marriage, my career, as a mom, and as a leader in the church. They are basically written prayers to God. In these written prayers, you will see how God made changes in my life as a wife, mother, friend, and career woman. I hope that sharing my experiences will help you, encourage you, and inspire you in whatever situation you may be faced with. Knowing that someone else has experienced or is currently facing the same struggles as me, helps me feel like I'm not in a boat by myself. No matter what you may face, you are never alone. Jesus is present with you in whatever season you are in.

God planted Helpmate Ministries in my heart back in May 2016. There was no name or structure, just instructions on what to talk to women about. I wrote what He said on a post-it note, put it away, and forgot about it. The Holy Spirit brought it back to me in March 2017. It took 3 of my girlfriends to encourage me to move forward. I began praying more and listening to God. My prayer has always been, “God build this ministry into what you desire it to be. I am honored to be your chosen vessel.” Helpmate Ministries is designed to give married women the support they need to help them through the rough seasons of marriage.
